Create your special somewhere with Taubmans Colour of the Year 2024

In a hectic world, we need our homes to be places where we feel completely at ease. Find out how Taubmans Colour of the Year 2024 and our three new palettes can help you create the perfect space for you.

In today’s busy and complex world, it’s more important than ever to carve out our own special place; somewhere we feel we belong. This was the feeling that came out of our Trend Forecast brainstorm, when internationally renowned design experts shared their thoughts on what we’ll be needing from our homes in the next few years.

Our conversations led us to a theme for Taubmans Colour of the Year 2024: ‘A place where you belong’ and to the shade itself, Sweet Embrace™. Around this soft and positive tone, we’ve created three easy-to-use colour palettes: a Warm colour story, a Calm colour story and an Uplifting colour story. Each of them offers a different way to create a space where you feel completely at home.

Start with a positive foundation

Sweet Embrace™ is a delicate and optimistic colour, inspired by the softness of feathers and evening clouds. As well as being a warm and practical standalone shade, it’s also a great foundation colour that’s ideal for combining with many other shades. Subtle and sophisticated, it takes on different tones in different lights, bringing warmth to north-facing spaces and softness to sunlit rooms.

Make your workspace cosy

We need every part of our home to feel familiar and comforting, and the global earthy tones in our Warm colour story create the perfect backdrop. Here, burnt orange and Sweet Embrace™ create a colour-flow feature wall for a feeling of wraparound softness. Want to get the look? Check out our handy step-by-step article.

Create a calming kitchen

Even a busy kitchen can feel peaceful with the right colours. Our Calm colour story is made up of natural greens and blues that can bring a tranquil and fluid feel to a space. Here, two deep greens set the tone and Sweet Embrace™ adds a warm touch.

Opt for an upbeat bedroom

Mixing dreamy tones of lilacs and yellows, our Uplifting colour story can create a fun, friendly backdrop without overpowering a room. Here, set against the Colour of the Year 2024, Sweet Embrace™, soft ochre brings an extra blast of warmth to the sleeping area.
